Magnum Photos and R.I.T. are proud to offer one scholarship opportunity for a photographer to join our upcoming course A Short Course on Visual Storytelling with Ahndraya Parlato and Gregory Halpern, taking place in-person in Rochester, NY and online.
The successful applicant will be chosen based on the quality of the work submitted and the ability to demonstrate how this course will benefit their career.

Prerequisites / Eligibility
Applications are open to photographers worldwide, regardless of age and nationality.
*Please note that the scholarship only covers the tuition fees. Travel and lodging costs will be at the expense of the scholar.
We encourage applications from those who are underrepresented in the photography industry including women (female identifying), people from lower socio-income backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and those from ethnic minority backgrounds. We also welcome applicants from a range of educational backgrounds and therefore do not require a minimum formal qualification.
Applications
Successful applicants will be chosen based on their ability to demonstrate their commitment and motivation in pursuing a career in photography. We will consider both cohesive and compelling bodies of work as well as how this opportunity will benefit applicants’ practices and personal development.
Required materials
– One pdf file including 1 or 2 photo stories with no more than 30 images in total
– A Statement of Purpose explaining why you are applying and how this opportunity will benefit your practice
