“The city of Mumbai is an amalgamation of several islands that were connected via causeways in the 19th century, and the sea is
(...) still such a huge part of life in the city. People go there at the end of the day to unwind, go for a dip, meet lovers, have fun with friends, or just get a bite to eat. Juhu Beach to the north of the city is 6 kilometers long and full of people in the evenings and weekends. Like everyone else, I would often go there after a long day just to relax. The openness of the sea gives breathing space to what is otherwise a very crowded and manic city. I watched these women as they washed their daily stresses off in the waves.”
