“It was late in the afternoon, dark clouds were rising from the horizon, as I was crossing an old metal bridge. Suddenly, to my left, I saw a man pushing his big boat to
(...) get across. Since it was a narrow bridge and we were in the middle of traffic, there was no stopping; I had to catch the boatman in the right space with the right action that would strengthen the power of the image. Very fast, from my moving car, in quick succession, I shot three frames. In those good old days of using Kodak Tri-X film, sure enough, the last frame worked very well for me. Since it was all done at a very fast pace, the film got overexposed as I did not have the time to adjust my exposure. But sometimes a mistake can grant you an extra peg of creativity. In this case, when I made a print from the overexposed negative, the grain of the film had enhanced the mood and spirit of the moment captured.”
