Magnum Contact Sheet Prints tell as much of a story as the single image that goes on to become iconic: they reveal the befores, the afters, and the almost theres, that surround some of the most iconic photographs.
A selection of historic Contact Sheets by Magnum photographers are available as high quality, unsigned, contemporary 16×20″ prints. These contact prints offer the opportunity to own a piece of Magnum’s history.
Taken at the Moss Side Estate in Manchester, this contact sheet shot by Stuart Franklin, captures an intimate and leisurely moment of children at play. These children are poverty stricken, however these images display a sense of wonder as the children dive off the roof of a trailer onto a couple of mattresses to cushion their fall. In 1986 Franklin made a photographic study of economic depression in Great Britain. These images were taken on a Black and white Kodak TX.
Stuart was invited to join Magnum Photos in the summer of 1985, and has been a full member since 1989, serving most recently as the agency’s elected president between 2006-2009.

These prints are embossed ‘Magnum Photos Collection’ on the white border in the bottom right corner and hand stamped with the photographers copyright on the back.
