(...) ss through. On the US side the beach is under surveillance by parked Border Patrol vehicles, sensors, spotlights and helicopters. Heavy surveillance has driven many migrants to attempt mountains and desert crossings where many die of exposure and dehydration, are vulnerable to wild animals and vipers, or may be attacked by vigilante groups once on the US side.
