Description

Throughout the fifties and sixties, Dennis Stock was sent around the world to photograph Hollywood’s biggest films and personalities. “My pleasures were more in finding the intimate moments that depicted a less self-conscious side to an actor’s character and the offbeat moment behind the scenes on a set rather than what happened in front of a movie camera,” he wrote of his approach in his book Made in USA.

Here, Stock photographs Audrey Hepburn on set for Billy Wilder’s Sabrina, starring alongside Humphrey Bohart and William Holden. The year was 1954, only one year after she rose to stardom, winning an Oscar, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for her performance in Roman Holiday.
