The religion-focused work of Spanish photographer Cristina Garcia Rodero has been featured by Topic. Explore Rodero’s work, featuring a rural Spanish village, where residents parade with ancient icons like wax heads, alongside leaping devils, daisy kings and Catholic saints, here.
“The New Londoners” on National Geographic
Chris Steele-Perkins spent over four years making portraits of families living in London whose origins span the globe, with the aim of photographing people from every country in the world. The project resulted in a book, as well as several exhibitions, and has now been featured by National Geographic. Read the feature here.

David Hurn’s Final Public Talk
The Welsh branch of the Royal Photographic Society recently announced that a forthcoming talk by Welsh Magnum photographer David Hurn will be his last public address of this sort. Find more information about the event here.

Inge Morath Award Closes Soon
The Inge Morath Award closes for entries on Tuesday April 30. The prize is a $5,000 grant for a female photographer under the age of 30 to support the completion of a long-term documentary project. More information and application instructions can be found here.

W. Eugene Smith Grant Closes Soon
Entries for the 2019 W. Eugene Smith Fund grant, Howard Chapnick grant, and Smith Fund grant for student photographers close on April 30th. The W. Eugene Smith grant is to help a photographer begin a photographic project or to help complete a body of work in progress. The W. Eugene Smith grant for student photographers is designed to encourage and support students whose photographic work renews the tradition of W. Eugene Smith’s humanistic and compassionate photography.
