Magnum Contact Sheet Prints tell as much of a story as the single image that goes on to become iconic: they reveal the befores, the afters, and the almost theres, that surround some of the most iconic photographs.
A selection of historic Contact Sheets by Magnum photographers are available as high quality, unsigned, contemporary 16×20″ prints. These contact prints offer the opportunity to own a piece of Magnum’s history.
Model and actress Tyra Banks is part of the young ensemble cast of director John Singleton’s film ‘Higher Learning’. This contact sheet shot by Eli Reed, shows Banks embracing the director. These studio photographs taken with flash, on a black and white medium format Kodak TX, show Reed’s use in range of tonality as well as studio portraiture.
Reed began photographing as a freelancer in 1970. His work from El Salvador, Guatemala and other Central American countries attracted the attention of Magnum Photos in 1982. He was nominated to the agency the following summer, and became a full member in 1988.
