Dennis Stock’s vision of counter-culture California
Dennis Stock’s book, California Trip, was the result of his exploration of the state at the height of its countercultural heyday. From back-to-the-land hippy communes to biker gangs and anti-war protesters, Stock’s vision of the Golden State and its roadways, modernist architecture and inhabitants has been revisited by The Washington Post.

Sohrab Hura’s GUP cover
An image from Sohrab Hura’s new book, The Coast, is featured on the cover of the 62nd issue of photography publication GUP. The issue’s theme is ‘periphery’, and as that title suggests, it is focused on ‘what happens further away from the limelight’.

Martin Parr discusses Bristol’s new book festival with BJP
The British Journal of Photography have spoken to Martin Parr about his involvement in his hometown’s new photobook festival, BOP (Books on Photography). The article notes Parr’s own remarkable output of photobooks – over 100 to date – as well as his massive collection of more than 12,000, which was aquired by Tate in 2017.

Nanna Heitmann wins Leica Oskar Barnack award
Magnum 2019 nominee Nanna Heitmann has won the Leica Oskar Barnack newcomer award for her project Baba Yaga, which documented those living along the banks of the Yenisei River, one of the longest in the world, as it runs through Siberia.
