Martin Parr has shot an exclusive series on British summertime for SLEEK Magazine. Parr shot during a sunny day in London’s Hyde Park and made the below portrait of Hans Ulrich Obrist the celebrated curator and director of London’s Serpentine Gallery, itself within the park, which appears on the magazine’s cover.

Huck Magazine on The Macallan: Masters of Photography
Huck Magazine has published a feature on the collaboration between Magnum photographers and The Macallan. “[Macallan] were looking for a group of photographers who could document the build over a number of years. Magnum is strongest when the group comes together on a project – so we were the perfect fit,” Tim Paton, Commercial Director at Magnum, said of the project.

Alex Webb in Feature Shoot
Alex Webb and his wife Rebecca Norris Webb spoke to Feature Shoot about their collaborative work for their book Violet Isle. “Whenever I photograph, wherever I go, I try to approach the world with as few preconceptions as possible,” Webb told the publication.

Invited by Samsung to create a series of images that capture art in the everyday for The Frame, Norwegian Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen explored Scandinavia’s warm light and natural beauty near his home. An Interview with Sim Chi Yin
2018 Magnum nominee Sim Chi Yin was interviewed by The Mackrel blog about her work. “A sense of social purpose guides me, although how that manifests itself has evolved and become more layered over time,” she said.

Koudelka Shooting the Holy Land
The Film, Koudelka Shooting Holy Land is a unique and intimate look into the creative process of Josef Koudelka as never seen before. The film’s director, Gilad Baram, a young Israeli photography student, was assigned to assist Koudelka during his four-year-long project in Israel and Palestine. Baram began following the Magnum photographer with his own camera, documenting his journey through the region from which a new body of work by Koudelka, focusing on the wall built by Israel in the West Bank, would later emerge. The director is now crowdfunding to support the release the film on DVD.

Nominee Submissions
The process of becoming a full member of Magnum Photos take a minimum of four years. Photographers are only considered once a year, during Magnum’s Annual General Meeting in June, where one day is set aside for considering and voting on potential new members’ portfolios.
Magnum Photos accepts portfolio submissions from all international professional photographers, but most successful applications are made with the support of Magnum photographers.
