Mediations Reviewed

The book accompanying Susan Meiselas’s retrospective exhibition has been reviewed by Juxtapoz magazine. “Using photography, film, video, and archive material, Meiselas presents a comprehensive narrative of the subjects in her work, constantly raising questions about the role of the photographer as a witness and the subject as a participant,” they say. Read more here. The exhibitions Mediations is currently at the Jeu de Paume in Paris, and will travel to San Francisco later this year.

Creative Boom shines a spotlight on the work of the late Philip Jones Griffiths with an article on the duo of exhibitions to mark the 10th anniversary of Philip Jones Griffiths’ death. “John Pilger wrote on Philip’s death in 2008: ‘No photographer produced such finely subversive work, knowing that truth in war is always subversive,’” it reads. Bruno Barbey’s Académie des Beaux-Arts Inauguration

Bruno Barbey will be officially inaugurated into the Académie des Beaux-Arts on April 4th, 2018 at a ceremony in Paris. Catch the final two weeks of Barbey’s May ’68 show at Château de Tours, France. Barbey’s new book Au Coeur de Mai 68 (In The Heart of May ‘68) is published by Les Éditions du Pacifique.
