Susan Meiselas Wins the 2019 Deutsche Börse Prize

Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas has been awarded the 2019 Deutsche Börse photography prize for her retrospective exhibition “Mediations”. Read Sean O’Hagan on the photographer who carved “a new form of socially engaged photography” on The Guardian here.

The British Journal of Photography recently spoke to Meiselas about her collaborative work in Kurdistan, which is currently on show at The Photographers’ Gallery in London as part of the Deutsche Börse nominee exhibition. “You tell a story differently when someone is listening,” she tells the publication. Susan Meiselas Wins the 2019 Kranszna-Krausz Fellowship Award

Susan Meiselas has also been announced as the recipient of the 2019 Kranszna-Krausz Fellowship Award. The Kraszna-Krausz Fellowship recognizes photographers whose careers exemplify the highest standards of photography book production; who have inspired creativity, created rigorous projects, and have had a lasting impact on both their fellow artists and the practice of image-making. The collaboration between Magnum’s Sohrab Hura and fashion designer Kiko Kostadinov, exclusively available at Dover Street Market during Photo London, has been previewed by i-D Magazine.
